Nong Khai on the Mekong

Nong Khai is a small town on the Mekong bordering Laos ad is the entrance to Vientiane across the friendship bridge. The people around the river call it the “Nam Kong” (“water Kong”j. The “me” in Mekong means ‘mother”.
